Local Charity Partnership – M&M Estate and Letting Agents and ellenor

Our partnership with ellenor – A remarkable charity that’s close to all of our hearts. Providing Hospice care in your home or theirs.

I’m not sure I’ve ever spoken to anyone that doesn’t have some form of connection with ellenor. Indeed, my own family have experienced their compassion and support. It’s for this reason we have chosen them as our local charity to support.

I’m a strong believer that everyone has the ability to make a difference. Whilst we all have our own skill sets, time availabilities and financial situations, every effort, however small has the ability to make a change and positively impact peoples lives. If we all give a little, our combined impact will be remarkable.

Not only is charitable giving beneficial for the community and the charity itself it is also well documented that it offers numerous benefits for individuals; a sense of purpose, increased happiness and improved health to name a few! I want to make it as easy as possible for our community to get involved and have a positive impact not only on their lives but on others.

Whilst you may think you know what ellenor do, I think you would be shocked at just how vast their care has become, I know I was!

ellenor provides all-encompassing hospice care for adults and children living in North Kent and Bexley.

Their services for adults include:
·        Inpatient Ward
·        Living Well Programme
·        Hospice @ Home
·        Care Home Support Team
·        A Range of Wellbeing Services, including Therapies.

For children in Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley, they provide clinical nursing support working with children’s families to provide care at their place of choice, which is often their own home. This means that children can receive care in familiar surroundings.

In addition, they provide Respite and Wellbeing services, which include Play Therapy, Music Therapy, Counselling, Bereavement Support to mention just a few.

ellenor needs £7 million each year to enable them to provide quality care to local people facing life limiting illnesses.

Volunteering and fundraising make a real difference and enables them to ensure families make the most of every second they have together.

What I we will do to raise as much for such a worthy cause:

·        We will be asking every landlord to donate £1 a month from their rental income
·        We will ask every seller to contribute £25 upon completion of their property sale
·        We will ask each tenant and purchaser to make a one-off contribution of their choice
·        We have a collection bucket in our office
·        We will hold various sponsorship events throughout the year.
·        We will be volunteering our time where we can
·        We will promote the charity as much as possible.

Three of the major changes in the Renters’ Rights Act are longer notice periods, a shift to periodic tenancies and higher arrears thresholds. This means landlords must prepare financially. Rent guarantee insurance, forward planning and savings buffers are now more important than ever.

The first Renters’ Rights Act changes commence on 27 December 2025. Local Housing Authorities (LHAs) will have stronger rights to investigate whether a landlord or letting agent has breached certain housing laws. Read on to find out what's happening.

Throughout the year, we’ve run events, fundraisers, and donation drives. We’ve collected litter, gathered winter coats, supported local sports teams, and walked for charity. Here’s a look back at what we’ve achieved together.

The Renters’ Rights Act 2025 will come into force on 1 May 2026. There will be three phases! Read on to find out more👇
